the beauty of ordinary things

- sounds of
 my husband mowing the lawn,
our fan going full blast,
and our dog barking.

- our curtains swaying with the breeze,
- our soft pillows at the head of the bed,
- my latest unread book at the end table.

-the smell of
fresh cut grass
mixed with the scent of flowers,
- a pork roast in the oven .

- a kiss "hello"
- a dinner set for two.
